STRICTLY Come Dancing fans were left stunned by new professional dancer Kai Widdrington’s age in this evening’s launch – insisting that he’s secretly older.

Kai is one of four new pros to join the line-up, and they were each introduced in a special segment tonight.

Viewers don’t believe that he is 26 years old

However, Kai had viewers gasping as he revealed that he is 26 years old, and they flocked to Twitter to claim that he looks much older.

Taking to their social media account, one fan exclaimed: “We all just squealed out loud in our house 26! Give over, lad!”

Another wrote: “Did he say he was 26?! 26?!”

A third tweeted: “That new dancer from Southampton is not 26.”

One more joked: “He’s 26? Tough paper round.”

Kai has been dancing since he was nine years old, and reached the final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2012 when he was 16 years old.

He has previously worked as a professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars Ireland, and finished twice as runner-up on the show in 2018 and 2020.

In last year’s series, he made show history as part of the first all-male dance pairing with celebrity partner Brian Dowling.

Speaking about joining Strictly, the pro shared: “This is my childhood dream come true. Watching Strictly from the very first series as a young boy from Southampton and now 18 years later, to be a professional dancer on the show is the most amazing feeling and the biggest accomplishment of my career.

“I can’t wait to step on to the Strictly floor and experience the exciting times that lie ahead.”

The other three professional dancers joining the BBC show are Jowita Przystal, Nikita Kuzmin and Cameron Lombard.
