STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Kai Widdrington has stayed silent on rumours of a romance with his fellow pro-dancer Nadiya Bychkova after her engagement ended.
The 26-year-old refused to answer questions on the blonde bombshell after The Sun revealed he has been comforting since she broke up with her footballer fiancé.
After being quizzed on their relationship at the launch of Strictly Come Dancing’s UK tour today, Kai’s interview came to an abrupt end.
Before that he admitted he hasn’t stayed close to his former dance partner AJ – who he was rumoured to be dating before an injury forced her out of the final.
“I think she is doing better,” Strictly newcomer Kai told The Sun.
“She’s in Vietnam at the moment, and doing physio here and there. we’re wishing her the best and speediest recovery.
“But we haven’t had much time to speak because we’re so busy rehearsing. We barely have time to speak to our family.”
Kai has formed a “very strong” friendship with 32-year-old Nadiya since her engagement was called off.

Nadiya, who was previously married for two years to Russian dancer Sergey Konovaltsev, has stopped wearing her diamond ring.
And her ex-fiancé Matija, 33, who plays for Slovenian club ND Primorje, has unfollowed her on Instagram.
The split means Nadiya is the latest in a long line of Strictly competitors to see their relationship crumble
A source told The Sun: “Nadiya and Kai have incredible chemistry, and a very strong friendship.
“Right from week one they connected, and are always laughing and messing about.
“Nadiya and Matija actually separated months ago and obviously Nadiya confided in Dan at the time.
“Just as she was a great comfort to him when he was upset one week, so he was a rock for her.
“Kai, meanwhile, has also been brilliant – and she confided in him throughout the series.
“He has cheered her up and made her smile again. They’re great mates, and lots of people backstage think they’d make a really cute couple when the time is right.“
